We\u2019re sweating before we\u2019ve even ordered our first iced latte of the day, so honestly, how the fluff bags are coping in a full fur coat we\u2019ll never know. But despite the warm temperature, cats are notoriously terrible water drinkers all year round. So how can you get your cat to drink more water when it\u2019s needed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 Top Tips:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sneaking out for a snooze in the sunshine is top of the list for most of our fur friends, but making sure they do so safely is essential. The obvious place to start is by keeping fresh water topped up and available<strong><em> at all times<\/em><\/strong>. It\u2019s a must all year round, but especially in the summer heat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Another good tip to ensure your favourite felines are keeping their water levels tip-top is to consider feeding them more wet food. Wet food contains more water content than dry kibble so is a sneaky way to ensure they\u2019re getting enough of the good stuff.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>You could also try creating some homemade frozen snacks to add to your cat&#8217;s food bowl. Entice them into thinking they\u2019re getting extra grub, but really the extra water is what they need and what they\u2019ll have to lick through in order to get to the snacks!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>It might not be common knowledge, but with cats being cats, it\u2019s been observed that many of the furry ones prefer drinking fresh and even running water! High maintenance who? There are enough videos of cats in sinks with running taps on the internet to prove our theory. It might be worth investing in a cat water fountain if you have a particularly fussy puss. Fresh filtered water running 24 hours a day. Spoilt? Yes. But think of it as a spa-like water feature for your home, boosting that zen and hydrating your pal all at once.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Another classic cat-ism we\u2019ve found over our time as a cat people, is that those fusspots don\u2019t like their food and water in the same spot. It\u2019s down to their genetics and ensuring their water isn\u2019t contaminated, clean freak till the end. So a simple fix to boost their H2O could simply be to move their water bowl into a separate room from their food. Keeping it topped up and refreshed will also help. This goes for litter trays too, but this one we totally understand.
