The reason behind the unfortunate post-grass vomming seems to be down to their carnivorous nature. Although they can digest some veg, their feline tums aren\u2019t designed to regularly break down grass which is why it often makes a comeback.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This might actually be intentional.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cats are thought to know that eating grass will lead to a sort of \u2018clear out\u2019 &#8211; so if they\u2019re feeling under the weather or have eaten something they shouldn\u2019t have, a small grass gorge should sort them right out. Once again, cats proving their extreme competence at life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What health benefits does grass have for cats?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Grass contains folic acid which is also found in milk from their cat mum. Folic acid is an essential vitamin for our mogs, so chewing a few blades every now and then will supply them with some health benefits and nutrients &#8211; basically green juice for cats. Another benefit the four legged ones may find from grass is improved digestion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As cat owners, we\u2019re pretty accustomed to finding hidden hairballs round the house from where your pal has ingested too much floof. Grass is thought to actually aid in the breakdown of fur once it reaches the digestive tract and naturally act as a sort of laxative to help clear their system. The all natural <em>hairball preventer<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So an occasional grass snack for our cats really isn\u2019t anything to worry about, and can often be beneficial to our little nibblers. You can even invest in specifically designed<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/catit.co.uk\/shop\/senses-2-grass-planter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cat grass<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em>if your housemate is particularly fond of a side salad at meal times, or they prefer the inside life.
